What is the principle of the filter in industrial vacuum cleaners?

Everyone knows that industrial vacuum cleaners filter out the medium separating solids, liquids, and air, effectively separating and filtering these substances. The quality of the filter material plays a crucial role in this process. Therefore, when purchasing equipment, the quality of the filter material is an important factor we consider. The industrial vacuum cleaners commonly seen in the market usually have one or multiple layers of filtration; the better the filtration effect, the better the vacuuming performance. How much do you know about filter materials? Today, I will take you on a deeper understanding of this topic. Generally speaking, industrial vacuum cleaners use cyclone separators as the first layer of filtration, followed by filter cartridges for high-precision filtration. The filtration precision of ordinary filter cartridges is usually above 1 micron, but with membrane coating or special material treatment, the filtration precision can reach below 0.3 microns. Different filter cartridges made from various base materials correspond to different filtration solutions. Common materials include fiberglass, synthetic fibers, polyester, and stainless steel. Typically, industrial filter cartridges are composed of multiple materials to meet the demands of the operating environment. For filtering solids, 'polyester fiber' filter paper is generally used as the base material, which is then treated with a PTFE membrane on the surface, significantly improving filtration precision. Currently, most filter cartridge manufacturers increase the number of folds and the depth of folds to enhance the filtration area. Notable brands include Donaldson and Toray.
